Wow, I got everything I asked for on my Christmas wish list, and more! I was not expecting that! I’m very excited about all the gifts I received, and I can tell you that all of them will be put to good use. I’m having difficulty deciding which one is my favorite.

My wife got me a Nesco food dehydrator, and an awesome memory foam pillow. I can’t wait to try making some venison jerky, and Shonnie wants to try out making dried fruits, which sounds good to me too.

Much to my wife’s chagrin, Grace & Joey got me a the latest World of Warcraft expansion, “Wrath of the Lich King”. Now all I need to do is get my level 38 paladin up to level 55 so I can create my own death knight! I’m sure that’s all geek-speak to most of you reading this.

My in-laws got me an iHome alarm clock and the Word of Promise audio Bible. I’ve been wanting an iHome alarm clock ever since I went to a conference out in San Francisco this past summer. I’m a pretty light sleeper, so having the ability to make the display completely dim is a huge deal to me, plus having 2 separate alarms is a great bonus, since Shonnie and I often wake up at different times.

I’ve also been looking for a new translation of the Bible to listen to. The Bible Experience (TNIV translation) was very good. The Word of Promise is a NKJV translation, so I’m hoping that I’ll gain a better understanding of the book. I think it is important to read & listen to different translations to help deepen your understanding. Some times what is written in one translation is easier to grasp than what’s written in another one.

My sister in-law got me a Bella Cucina Rocket Blender. Both Shonnie and I are looking forward to making some coffee drinks and smoothies with this mean machine. I’m also looking forward to trying out my hand at making some impromptu home made salsa, as well as some of the recipes in the book that came with it!

There were a few other odds and ends that I got (hat & gloves, shirts & tie, etc.), but these were the items I was really looking forward to. Both my mom & stepdad and my dad & stepmother sent me cash, so I will probably try to go out and try to take advantage of those after Christmas sales everyone is talking about. :-)
